Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the mobile application "Kiso" (the "App"), developed and published by Luxboros. We built Kiso to help you understand your finances, not to monetize your data. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and what we don't.

1. What We Collect

Data you provide

  • Financial data: Budgets, transactions, recurring entries, tags, and savings goals you enter into the App. All of this stays on your device.
  • Profile information: Birthday, country, target retirement age, and emergency fund balance are used to calculate your financial health score. Stored locally only.

Data we collect automatically

  • Analytics events: Anonymous, non-financial usage data (screens viewed, features used) collected via PostHog to help us improve the App. These events contain no transaction amounts, account balances, or personal financial information.
  • Device information: OS version and app version, collected as part of analytics. No device identifiers are stored.

2. What We Don't Collect

  • We do not access your bank accounts or financial institutions.
  • We do not collect your location.
  • We do not use advertising identifiers or run ads.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing.
  • We do not use your financial data for profiling, scoring, or automated decisions beyond what you see in the App.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Calculate your budget foundation, health score, and financial projections, all on-device.
  • Send you optional bill reminders via local notifications (processed on your phone, never sent to a server).
  • Improve the App based on aggregate, anonymous usage patterns.

4. Where Your Data Lives

Your financial data lives in one place: your device.

  • Local database: All budgets, transactions, and profile data are stored on-device in an SQLite database. Nothing is uploaded to any server.
  • No account required: Kiso does not require sign-up or sign-in. There is no cloud sync at this time.

Anonymous analytics are processed by PostHog (EU-hosted). No financial data is included in analytics events.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your financial data exists only on your device. Uninstalling the App deletes everything permanently. There is no cloud backup to recover from.

Analytics data is retained by PostHog for up to 12 months and cannot be linked back to you.

6. Your Rights

Under applicable privacy regulations (including GDPR), you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent for analytics collection.

7. Children's Privacy

Kiso is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
